The Rocky Awards, Host, thinkingDance and Fringe Arts, 2020. Host of Philadelphia’s peer-to-peer dance awards, worked with producer Mira Treatman to draw new and under-recognized artists and audiences to the celebration of the local dance scene.
Founder/Artistic Director, Effervescent Collective, Baltimore, MD. 2008-2014. Effervescent’s broad definition of dance as “a physical practice in connection to a groove” and use of DIY production techniques in non-traditional spaces enabled a range of artists to participate, including many who did not fit into the conventions of the dance world. Effervescent expanded Baltimore’s dance and experimental theater scene in step with the nationally recognized music and visual arts renaissance amidst the 2009 economic crisis. Responsible for oversight of all creative projects and administrative operations.
